    African Dawn

    £20.00

This piece is part of the Flexi-Collection – World Tour Series and embraces the sounds and imagery of a tribal group out singing on a remote hill top (where a phrase is sung and response given by the group).  This is effectively recreated by soloists around the band playing and responding. There are also opportunities to spread lots of percussion throughout the band and/or have players clapping the separate rhythms to bring forth the African atmosphere.  A great interactive showcase piece. Each part includes a rudimentary theory reference sheet and Learn Together Moments for group warm-ups; the score also includes background information and Check It Out ideas to encourage the players to find out more.

    BA-Rock

    £25.00

An ideal concert item, opening with a beautifully harmonised Baroque-styled melody.  It then picks up tempo, developing the theme into a light rock-feel number through to close.  A very versatile piece with clever musical references combined with a very listenable, upbeat approach which really lifts the mood.

Ballad from Slidin’ Songs for Milly

    £10.00

A simple but effective little piece for trombone and piano (or any Bb Instrument and piano).  Aimed at the beginner player, it is scored for a limited range of an octave between E – E.  A nice way to engage and support the learner by having the added interest of the piano part to complete the harmonies.  Solo part provided in Treble and Bass Clef.

    Caribbean Calypso

    £20.00

Composed by Steve Robson specifically for the Flexi-Collection World Tour Series.  Caribbean Calypso opens the doors to a memorable concert item, with the option of including a local steel drum group to join you. Lots of fun to be had with this unusual combination.  But don’t worry, there is an alternative solo version if a steel drum group isn’t possible, so you can still bring the sea, sand and sun to your concert hall with the distinctive style of this music.  Each part includes a rudimentary theory reference sheet and Learn Together Moments for group warm-ups; the score also includes background information and Check It Out ideas to encourage the players to find out more.

    The Children of Chernigov

    £20.00

Composed by Steve Robson specifically for the Flexi-Collection World Tour Series.  This piece is a tribute to the children still affected by the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear disaster. Chernigov is an area, originally part of the USSR, now Ukraine, originally inhabited by Cossack tribes. This piece is a “Cossack Dance”, which starts slowly in a minor key, and then shifts to the tonic major for a lively dance. Each part includes a rudimentary theory reference sheet and Learn Together Moments for group warm-ups; the score also includes background information and Check It Out ideas to encourage the players to find out more.

The Terracotta Army of Mount Li

    £20.00

Composed by Steve Robson specifically for our Flexi-Collection World Tour Series.  Inspired by this wonder of the world, the piece embraces the Chinese style of music which often uses the pentatonic scale. It’s a sequence which is something quite unusual to our ears in the western world and can be quickly demonstrated by playing only the black notes on the piano. Luckily for the players, this version has been put into an easier key, but still retains the distinctive sounds. Each part includes a rudimentary theory reference sheet and Learn Together Moments for group warm-ups; the score also includes background information and Check It Out ideas to encourage the players to find out more.

    What’s The Matter Horn?

    £20.00

Composed by Steve Robson and scored specifically for our Flexi-Collection World Tour Series.  Steve has been inspired by fond memories of hearing Alpine Bands and seeing knee slapping dancers performing in Switzerland for this piece. It starts with some off-stage calls (which could even be from an Alpine Horn if one is available), and moves into a lively dance section, ending with a little yodeling! There are various ways to convey the yodeling through instruments, but a bit of vocal yodel practice could be a novel new addition to the band’s warm-up routine! Each part includes a rudimentary theory reference sheet and Learn Together Moments for group warm-ups; the score also includes background information and Check It Out ideas to encourage the players to find out more.
